The aim of the WinApp Project is to develop an application for mobile devices to support the teach-and-learn process in the Professional Training of the construction industry in Europe, based on an orientation approach to work process, from a clearly innovative perspective.
Partners will analyse work process orientation based-models, which are currently applied in Europe, and they will develop an application for WinApp mobile devices for students, tutors and trainers and they will prove its efficacy and efficiency with a number of pilot or trial efforts in the participant countries.
Orientation Methodology for work process
This type of methodology is very present in the German Dual Vocational Training System, and it’s demanded by other countries in order to apply it in their own Vocational Training Systems, especially in the construction industry. The model, developed in 2006, is based on classical teaching procedures and it does not exist any other innovative tool so far, such as the case of a mobile application supporting the teach-and-learn process.
Trainers, tutors and trainees are engaged in this method which establish, with a holistic vision, a set of stages to follow during a work process: to obtain the information needed about the assignment; to plan, decide, execute, control and evaluate what has been done.
Expected impact
The development of an app as a tool to support trainers, tutors and trainees in the teach-and-learn process of Vocational Education and Training in the construction industry, will help to improve the impact of the training in the industry, it will improve the digital skills of users and it will increase the appealing of vocational training centres when presenting an educational offer through the current and innovative means.
